I received above comment in a post I wrote long time ago. Wow..should be one and half years already, Kiki already is one and half years old now. I’m not sure how is the situation in both hospital now. I think should be kind of big different after the one years plus. So, I don’t think I can provides the up to date comment for you, Anne.

There are many long comment I received for the post on and off. Anyway, I published all the comment, go here read again if you interested.

By the way, Congratulation on your pregnancy. Below is my experience in both hospital. I have no problem to delivered my two baby at Hospital Putrajaya and Hospital Serdang. I think which hospital is not problem if both baby and mother is in healthy conditions.

Hospital Putrajaya (2004)

  • cost about RM400 – RM500
  • Twin bed air-conditioner room
  • natural birth
  • 2 days 1 night stay
  • no complication case
  • Husband allows to go into labour room but only when wife “going” to pop timing, husband have to wait for call at outside of labour room. Plus inform the nurse easy regarding your husband want to go into labour room.

Hospital Serdang (2006)

  • Cost about RM50 – RM100.00
  • Bed in open Hall without air-conditioner but not very heating
  • natural birth
  • 2 days 1 night stay
  • no complication case
  • Husband allows to go into labour room. Have to inform the nurse easy regarding your husband want to go into labour room too, however, my husband can accompany me from starting until end of labouring.

i have give birth to my son in hospital putrajaya. and of course it is a wonderful experience since the staff, nurses and doctors are very friendly and nice to me..i have been warded for almost 4 days for monitoring before my baby was induced. just regret that they dont offer epidural apart from mild painkiller which was injected at my thigh which i could hardly feel the effect and the etonox gas when i was in pain of contraction otherwise it could have been a great relieved..i was in labour room from 8 am…and my husband was allowed to be on my side until i gave birth at 1 pm…he was the only painkiller that i think was working at that time :) )

neway now i m 6 months pregnant and i guess hospital putrajaya would be my choice again..hopefully everything went good and well this time around…

Hi,

Thanks for the info on Hospital Serdang Vs Hospital Putrajaya. If it’s not too much trouble, can I ask a few questions?

1. Is serdang hospital a semi-private hospital? If so, how do I actually admit there for the monthly checkup and have my baby there?

Serdang Hospital is government hospital. you have to report to them at ur 6 or 7th seven month pregnancy (I can’t remember the actual month you better check with them). I macam registered myself at the 6th months and go when labour only.

2. I understand that after giving birth, your baby needs a lot of shots so, does serdang hospital provide them and what is the charges?
You can get free injection at any government clinic nearby to you. They will give you a card you have to report it to the government clinic after full month to take 1st baby injection.

Sorry to be asking so many questions, ;O> it’s my first baby and I’m in my thirties so, have to be very careful.

Thanks in advance.

Yours sincerely,
Theresa

I have experienced in Kajang, Putrajaya and Serdang hospitals. Will never go to Kajang again…but that was back in 2001. I hope the nurses are kind now. Putrajaya – good infrastructure, nice and helpful nurses and doctors. Serdang – labour room environment and staffs are good but ward was not nice. Toilet needs repairing and not so clean (surprisingly for a new hospital). Luckily I moved to first class ward after delivery. Lousy food also. First class ward is stayable only after delivery. If i were to got pregnant again (I wish no more for i have 4 already), I would choose Putrajaya.
